House in Oudesluis with Private Parking
This detached house is part of the holiday house complex Zijper Eilant. You go through the garden directly to the private boat jetty on the canal, providing direct access to the water. It is ideal for relaxing and slowing down in very quiet surroundings.
The house provides a total living space of 90m² for five people. The ground floor of around 50m² comprises a kitchen, a dining space, a living room, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate guest toilet. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, toaster, filter coffee machine, oven, fridge, freezer, kettle and washing machine, cutlery, glasses and crockery for five people, as well as a tin opener, corkscrew. The dining space has a dining table and five chairs. The living room has an open fireplace, a three-seater and a two-seater sofa, a rocking chair and a little flatscreen TV with satellite channels, a stereo system with a USB port and a DVD player. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed 160cm wide and a large wardrobe. The second bedroom is for one person and has a single bed 90cm wide and a large dresser. The guest WC includes a little washbasin and ventilation. The bathroom is fitted with a larger washbasin, a cupboard with a mirror, a shower and a little external window. At the end of the little hallway with a mirror, a lockable door opens onto the garden terrace. A spiral staircase leads from up to the second floor of around 45m². It has an open layout, so that you can look up to the roof from the kitchen, dining table and living room, making it feel airy and rustic. The upper floor has a bed 200cm wide and a large built-in cupboard. Two windows open up a view from the bed over the lovely garden with hydrangeas, the canal and your boat jetty, as far as the fields behind it and the horizon. All the rooms in the house have heating (gas) and the open fireplace in the living room exudes a pleasant, cosy and romantic atmosphere in the autumn and winter. Firewood can be purchased in the local supermarkets.
Enjoy sunny hours on the terrace in the garden with a grill, or the terrace in front of the house. Loungers and seating are available free of charge. There is a large private parking space in front of the house and further parking spaces 150 metres away. If you do not wish to drive to the beach for swimming, you can use the pool on the complex during the summer months (10 x 25 metres, a two-minute walk from the house), with an unsupervised kids’ area, free of charge. There are also benches and tables here for a picnic. Football goals are set up on the large lawn next to the pool. In winter this lawn is flooded to create an ice rink for skating, if it is cold enough. The site is fully fenced and therefore also suitable for families with small children, as well as dog owners. There is a children’s playground 250 metres from the house, with safe and tested play equipment.
Pet owners (e.g. dogs) are welcome at the house and on the complex at no supplementary charge. You may take dogs to many sections of beach. Like most of the owners, the owner’s family also sometimes uses the house for relaxing holiday days. The interior and the condition of the house reflect this. Personal contact with guests is more important than a deposit. All supplementary costs are included in the rental price, except the final cleaning and handing over the key by the site manager. These costs to the owner are passed on to guests without any mark-up.
The nearest shops such as a bakery, supermarket, butcher, post office are in ‘t Zand 5km away and in Schagen 7km away. The nearest train station with a connection to the Den Helder - Anna Paulowna - Schagen - Alkmaar - Amsterdam line is in Schagen 20km away. The nearest airport is Amsterdam Schipol 75km away. The nearest hospital is in Den Helder 20km away. There are fabulous fishing areas right on the doorstep. A fishing permit is available locally, with which you can fish almost anywhere in North Holland, from your own jetty e.g. pike and bass, as well as zander a little further away. You can buy children’s fishing rods and beginners’ fishing equipment in the local supermarkets. There are also fishing shops where you can buy more advanced equipment, bait etc. The water sports spot in Callantsoog is suitable for kite surfing and windsurfing. The waves are mostly with a south-westerly wind, sometimes sideshore, of 12-35 knots. The waves break against sand banks at intervals of about 250 metres and there is hardly any shorebreak. Depending on the location and tide, you can stand up to about 70-150 metres out. You can enquire at the local surf schools where waves will be strong or where there are sand banks with hardly any waves. Explore the any waters of the area with their many ducks, swans, geese and cranes on foot or by bike, either your own or rented in Callantsoog. You can set off by boat from your own jetty on exploratory tours. You can also rent a boat in the village. From here you can reach the Amstelmeer via the old weir. It is an excellent sailing region and especially suitable for windsurfing and kite surfing beginners.
