Our house in Kempfeld was built in 1920 and completely renovated and prepared as a holiday home in 2020 with much love and grateful support from our friends. It offers space for 4 people and is equipped with everything necessary for a pleasant holiday. Our holiday home is located in the region of the German Gemstone Road, an approx. 50 km long theme road that connects places and landscapes that are characterised by gemstone processing and extraction. Along the road, many small businesses invite you to visit and sell gemstones. There are also small museums and museum tunnels where agate was mined. The region of the German Gemstone Road is mainly specialised in hiking tourism. The Saar-Hunsrück Climb runs through large parts of it. In Idar-Oberstein there is a 10 km long hiking trail, the Nahe-Felsen-Weg, which has been designated a dream loop. The approx. 20 km long Copper Jasper Trail begins in Hintertiefenbach. Around the municipality of Herrstein runs the approx. 9 km long Middle Ages Trail, which was awarded the title of Germany's most beautiful hiking trail in 2010. Along the Steinbachtalsperre, the Köhler Trail crosses the municipalities of Sensweiler and Langweiler (near Idar-Oberstein). In Veitsrodt there is a hiking trail called the Stone Guest Book, on which prominent visitors to the Gemstone Road have immortalised themselves. On the ground floor there is a kitchen with refrigerator, cooker and oven as well as a dishwasher, microwave, a small freezer and a coffee machine.

In the passage from the kitchen to the dining room there is a glass fridge for chilled drinks. On request, this can be filled with drinks from the region.
The living/dining room is the largest room in the holiday home with approx. 38 m².
In the dining room there is a wooden table with six chairs, in the living room a couch for three persons as well as two armchairs. There is also a rocking chair for relaxation.
On the wall unit there is a micro hi-fi system with Bluetooth audio streaming, CD playback, USB playback and DAB FM radio. Furthermore, there is a 50" Smart-TV and a Blue-Ray player.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms.
There is a double room facing the street and a twin room at the back of the house. The bathroom is also accessible through this room. Both rooms have smart TV sets. The beds are made up, woollen blankets are in the wardrobe.
On the first floor there is a bathroom of approx. 13 m² with shower, bathtub, washbasin and toilet.
An infrared cabin is available in the bathroom for relaxation. Hairdryer, bathrobes and towels, as well as a basic equipment consisting of liquid soap, shower lotion and shampoo, are ready for you.
Furthermore, there is a separate toilet on the ground floor.
Free wifi is available throughout the house.
Should the weather not cooperate, you will find a game collection in the living room cupboard.
