THE RIETI AREA
A gateway to Rieti, a passport to visit all the historical and naturalistic treasures of the area.
"Visit Rieti" is the new portal that collects information and news of the city, to present the entire tourist offer in favor of a new way of traveling and discovering the places, with the pleasure of feeling part of a reality so rich in beauties to live and contemplate.
A historic center made up of architectural wonders and a history that spans the centuries to reach today: a small jewel protected by perfectly preserved medieval walls, with a river of brilliant crystalline colors that crosses it.
"Visit Rieti" tells of the historical characters who have made the city famous over time, of unspoiled nature and all to be experienced and discovered, of the Terminillo mountain, beloved in summer and winter, of the Holy Valley with the Sanctuaries chosen by St. Francis and today a destination for pilgrimages of all ages, the beautiful popular traditions and those of the table, sport, dance and culture that year after year carry high the name of the city, an increasingly popular destination for national and international events.
Rieti is all this and much more: it is what every tourist gives to the city at every visit, discovering aspects and places to live and look at each time with different eyes, feeling part of the beauties that characterize it.
THE FRANCISCAN SANCTUARIES
Franciscan shrines
The places of San Francesco
In the geographical center of Italy, on the hills on the edge of the green Valle Santa Rieti, are the four Franciscan sanctuaries, arranged in the shape of a cross.
They still reflect the spirit of the Saint, perched on the thin rocks, rich in essentiality.
Near them and along the path that connects one to the other, you pass through various villages, each of which is worth a visit for the remarkable landscape, cultural and food and wine resources to be discovered. The nature in this uncontaminated valley is rich in silence and serenity, surrounded by mountains and hills, among which Mount Terminillo rises with all its majesty. On foot, on horseback or by mountain bike, we proceed along natural paths of considerable charm, where we meet the places that, for their disarming beauty, enchanted and conquered Francesco.
THE TERMINILLO SKI AREA
Terminillo
The Terminillo offers breathtaking views and glimpses, a naturalistic heritage to be enjoyed in both summer and winter.
Skiing, mountaineering, snowboarding, trekking, horseback riding, high altitude sports, events, hospitality and catering: these are just some of the resources offered by our mountain, one of the most beautiful jewels of the Central Apennines.
Find out with us what you can do at Terminillo in summer and winter, and stay updated on all the events organized on the "Mountain of Rome".
