The holiday apartment is in a romantic, heritage-protected rural workers’ cottage between Usedom and Peene in the village of Schmatzin, on a cul-de-sac.

The Baltic Sea cottage comprises two holiday apartments. The apartments on the ground floor and the upper floor can each accommodate two adults and one child. They both exude a special atmosphere. They are furnished very comfortably and to a high standard. A ceramic hob, a multifunctional microwave, a dishwasher, a hairdryer and a safe are provided, as well as mattresses suitable for allergy-sufferers and organic plaster and paints. The floors are laid with new wooden floorboards. A wellness shower, a flatscreen TV with satellite channels, a stereo system and wireless Internet access are available.

Both apartments have their own terrace with three chairs and a parasol, for dining and relaxing. The cottage also has a big garden with an orchard, several benches and three sun loungers. There is a laundry room in the annex with a washing machine, a dryer, ironing equipment and a freezer.

There is the option of booking both apartments together. A daily cleaning and bed-making service is available free of charge. Groceries from the region can be delivered for a fee. You can use two bicycles on request free of charge. To ensure the well-being of all guests, the two apartments are non-smoking. For the same reason we cannot accept pets. A stylish holiday with creative relaxation: this is also an “art cottage”. One part of the house has an atelier belonging to a Greifwald artist, where you can let yourself be drawn into the world of abstract painting and ceramics. You can also admire the lovely artwork and objects there. Painting and ceramics courses are available on request.

Schmatzin – quiet but central. It is quietly situated but not isolated. The charming Peene valley is nearby and the wide, fine sandy beaches of Usedom are on the doorstep, as it were. The cottage is on a cul-de-sac, so apart from grocery traders only the odd cyclist comes past. The A20 motorway is just 15km away, so there are excellent transport connections towards Berlin and Hamburg. There is a train station 5km away. It is half an hour from Schmatzin to Usedom, also possible by train and bike, and ten minutes to the Peene, the “Amazon of the north”. You can hike and cycle as far as you want. The Hanseatic towns of Greifswald and Anklam are nearby, Stralsund and Rügen are about 45 minutes away, and it is a good hour to Rostock. You can therefore go on city tours and trips to explore the charming area, combining this with relaxing retreats to your stylish accommodation.

Holiday apartment for two adults and a child, with its own terrace

The renovated holiday apartment measures 50m² and has been furnished comfortably and tastefully. The “basic version” consists of a living room with an integrated, high-quality kitchen unit, a dining corner and a sofa bed, a bedroom with a double bed, cupboard, reading corner and satellite TV, a bathroom with a large mirror, a hotel hairdryer, a WC, a towel radiator and a wellness shower. This holiday apartment has been certified as four-star by the Vorpommern Tourism Board. The owner would like to point out that this classification only applies to occupancy with two people, because the third bed, a sofa, is in the lounge. However, it is therefore possible to accommodate parents with a child.
