Renaissance of the Golden Twenties in a luxurious holiday apartment in a listed train station

This is a unique holiday apartment that has been carefully restored, in the former station master’s apartment at the Leipzig-Möckern train station. It is surrounded by a generous site with a garden and you can benefit from a stand-along location near the centre, as well as a high standard of comfort and a 1920s flair.

The site features a garden of around 300m², where you can relax outside on the garden furniture or use the grill area for a grill evening. A free car parking space is available.

The Möckern train station built around 1900 is a listed building that was carefully and elaborately renovated and reconstructed in 2013 and 2014, now offering you an unforgettable holiday. The accomplished combination of a modern interior and nostalgic elements meets the highest of standards and allows you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a past era, when the conducted was the master of the train platform. On arrival you follow the restored original painting up the stairs to your apartment on the first floor. The living space of 74m² allows to people to enjoy the comfort of a fully-equipped two-room apartment with wooden floors. The air-conditioned bedroom with a flatscreen TV and satellite channels is furnished with a generous double bed with bedside tables and reading lamps on either side. The old building has high inset windows that allow plenty of daylight in and views out onto the green garden. You can relax in the centrepiece of the apartment, the living room, on a comfortable couch from the Gründerzeit, with a large wall-mounted HD flatscreen TV providing entertainment. The living room provides access to a modern built-in kitchen with a dishwasher, four-zone ceramic hob and oven, large worktops and high-quality utensils, so cooking will be a pleasure. Then you can sit in the dining room together for meals by the window. The daylight bathroom with a WC, hairdryer and makeup mirror also has a Gründerzeit flair and has stone tile flooring, selected fittings and fine ceramics, as well as a freestanding bath.

Möckern train station is in the Leipzig Möckern district. The S-Bahn S1 takes you straight from in front of the house to the market square in 10 minutes. You can also use tram line 11, which also takes ten minutes. Within walking distance of around 500 metres you can find many shops, restaurants, wine bars, pizzerias and a butcher. For leisure, there is a little lake nearby, Auensee, about 3km away. Sports enthusiasts and nature lovers can jog and walk in the Auenwald forest straight from the train station.

The train station operations came to an end in 2005, as the modernised ticket system made the building superfluous for this purpose.
