    “Der Ort an sich ist ein kleines ruhiges Nest. Wer Ruhe sucht, dem wirds gefallen, viel los ist nicht. Den versprochenen Bäcker in 1,5km Entfernung haben wir nicht gefunden, er war acht km entfernt. Im Nachbarort gibts nen Bioladen der allerdings nur ab und zu Gemüse und Backwaren anbietet. Die Wirtschaft + Getränkeladen im Ort sind eher nicht zu empfehlen, ist allerdings nur über die Straße, also für den Notfall gut. Supermarkt ist ca. 10km entfernt. Zum Strand ist man aufs Fahrrad oder Auto angewiesen (knapp 20km). Das Umland von Barthelshagen ist landschaftlich sehr schön, gut mit dem Fahrrad zu erkunden und lohnenswert, aber sehr ländlich. Wer nur Strandurlaub machen möchte und nicht weit fahren will ist hier falsch.”
