Approaching along SR 68 road from Cecina, I suggest to ignore navigator suggestion to turn at the first road signal “GELLO 3” and to proceed instead for approximately 1 km until the next “GELLO 3” left turn road signal appears.
According to the signal leave SR 68 make a left turn, proceed upwards for 2,5 km. Along the road flanked with cypresses pass through three farms. The last two are named Agriturismo La Vigna and Azienda Agricola Antaura. Proceed upwards for 500 meters and take the gravel road on the left side. A wooden signal GELLO is suspended to a three. Drive on the gravel road for 800 meters, follow a wide turn and park your car as the road ends at the archway. Walk through this and meet our local manager Giada Cantini who lives in the house behind the olive three.
Guest approaching Gello along SR 68 from Volterra are suggested to drive through Ponteginori Village, proceed heading Cecina for 5 km and then make a right turn at the first “ GELLO 3” road signal. After turning right the indication from the above paragraph applies will bring you to destination.
Whatever direction are you coming from, you should not be driving any longer than 3 km after the SR 68 road is left, and never in a downwards direction. Gello hamlet stands on top of a hill surrounded by threes, barely visible from outside after dusk. Call Giada or myself if any indication is missed.
