Cevio is the main village of the Maggiata valley and is situated 29 km north of Locarno. In Someo there are the waterfalls of Soladino (100 m dep). Shops and swimming pool in Bignasco. The Valle Maggia is a lovely holiday resort, in an idyllic position. Access: access via a good road. Railway station ''Locarno''. Bus service. PLEASE NOTE: not all villages have public transport. For arrivals by plane: airport Lugano (LUG), Milano-Malpensa (MXP), Zürich (ZRH).

Beach. Bathing bay. 1 cable car, 700 km walking path. Bicycles paths. Wonderful swimming experience in the cristal clean water of Maggia. Nice sandy beaches in Avegno and water basin in Aurigeno. For lovers of peace and quiet, the area between Lodano and Someo is ideal, also the first part of the Lavizza valley from Cavergno and Broglio, for instance Bavona. For anybody looking for something special there are the waterfalls in Maggia, Giumaglio or "Puz Bel" in Cavergno. From San Carlo, 14 km from Someo there is a cable car to Robei (1905 m) a lovely mountain tour.

Ski region Bosco Gurin. 3 drag lifts. 5 km cross country ski tracks in the region.
