Villa Cardano is an old country villa dating back to the nineteenth century. The villa is situated in its own grounds of 800 msq and located near the lake beaches playgrounds, harbour, shops and restaurants all of which can easily be reached on foot.



Villa Cardano is a holiday complex: there four gently furnished and comfortable apartments. The rooms offer an elegant and pleasant atmosphere an can accommodate up to 21 people. All the apartments are provided with autonomous heating system, and the kitchens are complete with electrical appliances, dishwashers machine and every type of equipment.



The sprawling garden with its mature trees extends over an area of approximately 1000 square metres. Guests can enjoy relaxed BBQ’s, picnic lunches or suppers, play ball games, or just simply while away the hours on a sunlounger. The property is situated in an ideal location for the beaches, playgrounds, harbour, shops and restaurants all of which can easily be reached on foot. The property is an ideal place for those wishing to meet up with friends and relatives for get-togethers, celebrations for birthdays or anniversaries. The Villa boasts large and tranquil outdoor spaces and ample secure car parking.



Villa Cardano offers common spaces for relaxing and free time activities. The splendid tavern made of facing bricks and a large fireplace offer the possibility of spending the hot summer hours in a cool environment, and one can also enjoy a game of ping-pong, cards, watch TV, or simply savour dinner in good company. There is a wi-fi internet connection and a cot (with linen and blankets), as well as a high chair.



An athletics track, a football and beach volley field, a sailing Centre and 2 harbours for boats are also available. Maccagno is 90 km from Milan, 45 km from Malpensa airport and 25 Km from Lugano (CH). Close to every destination, in proximity of the tourist attractions. At the little harbor in Maccagno you can catch a boat and visit the lovely villages around Lake Maggiore. You can also reach the Borromeo Islands and Stresa or Locarno in Switzerland. There are several open air festivals during the summertime. We'll be happy to provide a full list on request. Sport lovers will not get bored in Maccagno! You can practice all water activities during the summer (swimming, windsurfing, kitesurfing) and the winter (diving, sailing, fishing). At walking distance there are tennis courts, climbing walls, sailing club, athletic track, beach volley court, basketball court and skateboard ramps. The local mountains are great for walking excursions (Monte Lema, Monte Forcora, Monteviasco, Val Veddasca). Most of our mountains have special tracks for mountain bikes. In the nearby Swiss Tessin region there are beautiful places to spend a day out with the CHILDREN (Monte Tamaro with its cable car and several adventure parks). Valverzasca has fantastic bathing spots in the fresh water of its river. In winter, skiers can enjoy the small ski-lift at Alpe Forcora only 30 minutes away, or travel to the well-known Swiss ski resorts of San Bernardino, Airolo and Andermatt in just over an hour. Golf lovers will find 6 prestigious courses within a range of 40 km.

    “Gute Ausstattung, insbesondere die Küche mit Waschmaschine, schöner großer Garten mit Grillplatz, nette und hilfsbereite Vermieter. Ein Bett ging zu Bruch und wurde unkompliziert erneuert.
    Aber: Hellhörig und durch die Nähe zur Durchgangsstraße sehr laut. Knatternde Motorräder und lautstarke Kleinwagen sind selbst bei geschlossenem Fenster deutlich zu hören. Bei offenem Fenster ist an Schlaf nicht zu denken. Schade...
    Ohne die enorme und permanente Beschallung wäre das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis angemessen.”

    “Leider mussten wir feststellen, dass diese Wohnung keinesfalls für 7 Personen bewohnbar ist. Ein viel zu kleines Bad mit nur einer Toilette ist unzumutbar. Das Mobiliar hat seine besten Tage hinter sich, denn man muss befürchten, dass es zusammenbricht. Der Garten ist schön und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Grenzwertig hingegen ist die Lärmbelästigung durch die Hauptstraße direkt am Haus.”

    “Ci dispiace molto, che non abbia trovato niente di piacevole nella nostra casa.
    I mobili sono d’epoca in accordo con lo stile della casa.
    Nella descrizione dell’appartamento è chiaramente indicato che c’è un solo bagno. Il bagno sarà anche piccolo, ma ci sono: cabina doccia con idromassaggio, lavabo inserito nell’armadietto, Bidet e WC.
    Le biciclette a disposizione degli ospiti, previa richiesta, sono segnalate e sono tutte in perfette condizioni. Nonostante ciò Lei ha usato per diversi giorni la mia bicicletta personale senza farne esplicita richiesta.
    Con rammarico devo constatare che ogni mio sforzo per renderle gradevole il soggiorno non è servito a nulla.”

    “Schönes Appartment, ausreichender Komfort, angenehme Betten - der Gesellschaftskeller ist sehr urig und lädt zu langen Abenden ein. Die Vermieter sind herzlich und freundlich. Eine gute Unterkunft für Familien aber auch Reisegruppen, die nicht direkt nach umfangreichem Nightlife suchen, sondern eher genießen und entspannen wollen.”
