    “Plaatsje Le Piastre stelt niet veel voor. Geen supermarkt. Voor grotere boodschappen moet je naar Pistoia (Coop, Lidl etc). 1 dorp verder is een kleine Coop. In de omgeving zijn diverse pizzaria's waar je prima kunt eten voor weinig. (let op de servicekosten op de rekening ivm fooi) Pistoia heeft een leuke markt.
    Le Piastre is een goede uitvalsplaats voor tripjes naar Pizza, Luca, Florence, Sienna etc.
    Wandelen is lastig. Op de wegen lopen is niet verstandig. De Italianen rijden als gekken. Fietsen is hier zeker een uitdaging. Niets is vlak. Voor de echte berggeit.”
